Gossamer Blue Awesome

|
If you know me, I tend to shy away from primary colors (red); I love some brights and pastels, but the primaries (red) really throw me for a loop.

I've been trying to use stash items, and the photo of my girly wearing a red and white t-shirt called for some red spray ink.  But how do I use it without it looking like blood splatters?

I dipped the negatives from the feather cut file in the spray ink!  I sprayed some on my craft mat and just dipped the tips.  Boom.  No blood splatters.

I used a citron green, blue and yellow + my fave black inks on the Pinkfresh paper, smooshing and flicking the inks on the background.  And yes, I even flicked some of the red!

I love those Gossamer Blue exclusive acrylic pieces.  The big size has been so fun to use on my layouts.

Have a happy day!

Hip Kit Club Happy

|
 Happy, yes indeed ;)

The background paper is an exclusive by Kim Watson for Hip Kit Club, and I added a bunch of my fave Shimmerz products to bump up the messy.  I also cut HKC files on my Silhouette and added some Shimmerz on those as well.

The flair badge, die cuts, puffy sticker and acrylics are all HKC exclusives for May.

I love how Kimberly puts together a kit, she manages to bring product lines and originals together for such a happy look :)

I used a black pen to outline the cut files because they seemed to get a little lost in all the inks; I like how it ties in the black dots on the paper plus the ink splatters.

Be happy, my friends :)

Mixed Media Monday

|
Happy Monday my friends, today's layout features spray inks, cut files and all sorts of yummy goodies from the Hip Kit Club May kits.

I started with my fave Shimmerz and limited myself to yellow, blue and green (what?!? no pink?) because the feather cut files are primarily pink and I wanted them to really pop off my page.

Those navy alpha's are a HKC exclusive and I want them in every single color.

I'm a sucker for feathers.  They are one of my all time favorite shapes/icons and I love using them on my pages.

This layout is one of my all-time favorite pages in the history of my layouts.  I can't quite decide what it is that makes me so happy, but I love how it came together :)

Make a layout that makes you happy.  Use a feather or two ;)

Gossamer Blue My Precious Girl

|
This layout just touches my heart.

The stamps in the Gossamer Blue June Life Pages kit are so lovely, and there's two little border stamps that just speak to me.  I love this little leaf border, it's so dainty and precious.

I started this page with the Hello Sunshine Life Pages card and built from there, using only cards from the kit instead of papers.

There are some awesome Pinkfresh Studois die cuts this month, they add a bit of quirkiness to my pretty page.

The navy is so fresh, I love pink and navy together!

Gossamer Blue Beauty

Hello!  Today I have a layout that really gave me trouble; I so wanted to use that gorgeous floral painting paper from the Fancy Pants Atwell collection, but it's one of those papers that really stands on its own without any help from embellishments or mixed media.

I decided to cut the paper into scribble circles on my Silhouette, then added some black ink in circles; then I cut an older GB cut file twice, once in white and once in the Atwell paper.

Once I started adding some Shimmerz it started to make more sense to me, but it's one of those pages I'm not sure I'll ever love.

Thread, flair and some puffy sequin stickers were all I needed to complete the page.

It seems like I have one layout that just doesn't come together on paper like it does in my head.  I've learned to move on from these pages once they are complete because thinking and obsessing over them prevents me from working on anything else.  And what's the fun in that?

Make a mess today ;)

Gossamer Blue Beautiful Braids

Happy Reveal Day!  The June kits will be LIVE at noon central, make sure to snap up these gorgeous kits packed full of Fancy Pants, Pinkfresh Studios and Simple Stories!

My first layout made with the June kits features the beautiful Atwell collection by Fancy Pants.  I started with some gesso and Shimmerz products on the Pinkfresh background paper, then added all the fab bits from Fancy Pants.

I covered the tags with the feather washi (my heart goes pitter pat for feathers!), then used the tags as a base for my Instax photo.

Love those wood veneer Gossamer Blue exclusive clips.  Love.

The Pinkfresh puffy stickers seem created just for my layouts.  The sayings work for all my pages.

I LOOOOOOOOOVE all the puffy alphas in the kits for June!  Lori really spoiled us with alpha stickers this month.

Get your kits HERE, and get'em quick, these babies are gonna go fast!
