Today Is A Good Day

|
Happy Friday!!!

I have been really working towards using up my stash, whether that's physical stash like papers and embellies, or digi stash with cut files.  My layout share for today is another Kerri Bradford Studio cut file that I've had forever and never used.

Like the last layout I made with a KBS file, I cut this one three times from white cardstock; I used Shimmerz products to add some color and then glued all three cut files to some Pinkfresh Studios paper.

I used items from Crate Paper Wonder collection to embellish, including some stars I punched from some of the Wonder papers.

Lots of lovely layers, as per usual ;)  I'm still on a thread kick and add loops of it to most every layout. Of course my favorite black ink splatters make an appearance as well.

Have a fabulous Memorial Weekend!

Let's Get Together

|
Hey there, I'm sharing one bright and fun layout today ;)

I started by cutting the A Walk in the Clouds cut file as large as I could on my Silhouette, then did a bunch of smooshing and flicking with Shimmerz products to add color.

I used a bunch of Amy Tangerine products on this page, mainly the clear stickers adhered to white fun foam and fussy cut.

I love the little Instax pix, my friend Sasha let me borrow her printer and I am totally in love with it.

Of course I added some thread here and there, plus my go-to black ink for a few more splatters.  It's quite the crazy page, isn't it?  But I kinda love it.

Make today count ;)

Mixed Media Monday XOXO

|
Hello!  Today I've got a sweet layout featuring some lovely Maggie Holmes for Crate Paper.

I started the page with clear gesso then added some Shimmerz sprays for a little bit of mixed media, then took some black embossing paste and applied it through a Tim Holtz stencil.  I added twine to those lovely MH tags and created a sort-of-banner right through the middle of my page.

I think the black embossing paste is my favorite part of the layout, I love soft colors with a pop of black for contrast.  I also love black rainbows and wearing black pretty much every day.  Yeah, that's me ;)

Thanks for stopping by today!

Hip Kit Club Bloom

|
Hello!  I kind of went bananas and grabbed an extra kit or two of the Hip Kit May kits; the exclusives for May are just so good.

Let's discuss the amazing cut files you get from Hip Kit each month:  Ashley Horton knocks my socks off with her cut files and the Bloom title on my page is only part of the cut file!  There's a gorgeous floral piece on top of the word Bloom I didn't even use!

And what about the exclusive die cuts and papers by Kim Watson?  Holy smokes, the package of die cuts in the May kits is WOWZERS and the papers?  It's like Kim is looking into my brain and making what I have always wanted for my layouts.

I'm still very much into using Shimmerz products on most layout, along with tangled thread and flicks of a dark ink; the May kits feature navy accents so I got out my beloved Heidi Swapp Color Shine to flick navy on this page.

I'm kind of in scrap-love with the May Hip Kits.  Just a little swoony over here ;)

Embrace Life

|
Hello!

I am still using every last bit of the Fancy Free collection from the May Gossamer Blue kits.  For this page I cut the Sassy Circles cut file and backed each cut with papers from the Fancy Free 6x6 pad.  I love those 6x6 paper pads, the smaller designs are a perfect match when backing open spots on cut files.

Lots of small layers of the same 6x6 papers behind my photo gave me that messy layered look I love, and of course I had to add some Shimmerz sprays ;)  I finished the page with thread and chipboard stickers, and my favorite accent color, black.

I hope you're having a great week!

Well hello!

I made this layout using a super fun cut file from The Cut Shoppe and some products in my stash.  I started by resizing the cut file as large as I could in Silhouette, then backed a few of the open areas with patterned papers.  I used a bunch of Shimmerz sprays on my background paper and then adhered the cut file on top.

A few layers behind my photo along with some embellishments from older Gossamer Blue kits and I finished the page.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Mixed Media Monday Over the Moon

|
Happy Monday!  I'm sharing another page using April kits from Hip Kit Club, along with a cut file I've had in my Silhouette library for a very long time.  If you haven't had a chance to check out Kerri Bradford Studio and her awesome cut files, go there NOW.

I added lots and lots of my fave Shimmerz sprays over gesso on white cardstock.  After this dried I glued the Over the Moon cut file (I cut it three times in the same size) on top.  I kept the layers behind the photo to blues, greens and purples.

I opted for two pops of yellow because I love that Pinkfresh rubber piece that says Family Time, so I used a flair from my stash in yellow as well.  Two other flair badges and enamel dots finished this page.

Have a happy and sunshiney day!

Gossamer Blue Insta-Hop

I was really excited to receive the Pink Paislee page kits by Paige Evans in the May Main Add-on and Add-on Kit #2; the idea of being able to make such a detailed page in minutes is so appealing!

For my first layout I decided to use only the heart background without the geometric overlay:

The kits come with a few punch-out embellishments like tabs or frames that coordinate beautifully; I added a few layers of Pink Paislee 6x6 papers from the Bits & Pieces kit behind the photo, along with some black spray ink and thread from my stash.

The next page is the large geometric square and it took lots of foam adhesive to pop that white overlay up, but totally worth all the snipping and cutting I did to get the pieces the right size!

Don't you love that gold acrylic exclusive "shine" from the Main Kit?  I used the embellishments included in the Pink Paislee page kit plus more 6x6 papers.  One thing I love about these kits is that I don't have to do a ton of embellishing because the background is so detailed.  I added a few exclusive acrylic hearts from the Life Pages Add-on #3 and the page was complete.

Hip Kit Club Make Magic Happen

|
It's Friday the 13th!

I created this page using April kits from Hip Kit Club.  I started with a heart cut file from The Cut Shoppe then added gesso and Shimmerz products.  I decided to stick with mainly blues on the background because there are lots of colors going on in the photo.

I used that great Pinkfresh acetate word below the photo, so I decided to go with pink as my accent color.  I went through all the Shimelle die cuts to find anything with pink, then embellished my page.

I like the simplicity of this layout; I tend to fill up my pages and there's something about the soft color palette and all the white space that makes me happy.

Have a fab weekend :)

Gossamer Blue Life is Amazing

|
Hey friends!  Today I'm sharing a layout that is unusual for me in that the background is 1) red 2) red 3) red.  I like the color red but find it difficult to scrapbook with unless it's in very tiny doses.  I wanted to try something new plus see what my fave Shimmerz products looked like on top of this flashy color. I used several May Kits from Gossamer Blue for this layout.

I realize there is a lot going on with this page.  The red made me do it.

I did a lot of fussy cutting to get the elements I wanted on this page, mainly cutting down Simple Stories papers; I used to despise fussy cutting but I've come to love the look I get on my pages.

I think I would love this page if the background were white or a lighter color, small, patterned paper.  I love the photo frames and all the elements, but man, that red background is throwing me off.  Maybe I'll take a break from looking at this layout and come back to it and realize it's a winner.  Or maybe I'll feel the same.  Regardless, it's another memory in the book and I'm happy about that.

Mixed Media Monday Love This

|
Hey guys, Happy Monday!

My layout today uses the May Gossamer Blue Main Kit and the Main Add-on Kit, along with some of my fave Shimmerz products.  I started with the Pink Paislee Heart Page Kit, using Shimmerz sprays to do some mixed media on the geometric heart.  I placed the heart slightly off-center on the white background paper.

I wanted more hearts on the page so I added Dazzlerz through a stencil, starting a bit left of center and going off the right side of the layout.  I let this dry then added my photo, using the photo frame, tab, words and circle from the Page Kit to embellish.

I love the Today stamp included in the May Main Kit.  There's extra words so you can change up the sentiment!  I added the camera chipboard from Simple Stories with black thread from my stash to get some pops of black on the page.

I also added some torn washi strips along the top and bottom edges, along with splatters of color for an additional punch.

Hope your day is lovely!

Gossamer Blue Colorful Kids

|
Oh Fancy Free collection, you sure make my scrapping fun and colorful!

The May kits from Gossamer Blue are packed full of this beautiful collection by Pink Paislee. Packed. Full.

I started my page with white cardstock from my stash, added a layer of gesso and then went bananas with my fave Shimmerz products, spraying the inks on packaging and smooshing them right on the page.  Once the first layer was dry I went back in with the same colors, this time flicking the ink on to get those lovely little splatters of color.

I used a 1" circle punch on a 6x6 paper from the Bits and Pieces kit to get all those fun circles on my background, then used a Sharpie to doodle around some of the circles to add in more black for contrast.

Aren't those glitter Thickers in the Add-on Kit #2 just delicious?  I also love the chipboard sheet from the Fancy Free collection which was included in AO #2 as well.

Photo cred to my dear friend Rebekah Baier (check out her amazing photo skills!), and thanks to my other sweet friend Sasha for letting me try out her Instax printer!  Adore those girls.

Gossamer Blue So Happy

|
Hello!  There are two things I love about this page:  the Gossamer Blue exclusive background cut file designed by Traci Reed and the silver glitter Thickers.  The combo of the two made for such a fun layout!

I started by cutting the geometric background as large as I could on my Silhouette, then picked several of the Pink Paislee 6x6 papers from the Bits & Pieces kit to back each area.  Yes, this took a bit of time but it's super easy and worth it to get this awesome look on your layout.

I used some tissue paper from my stash along with the leftover patterned papers to mat my photo. Embellishments from the Main Kit Add-on and Life Pages #3 helped finish the page.

I had to add a bit of gesso and some Shimmerz products, just to bump up the messy factor ;)

I also fussy cut a few flowers and leaves from a 6x6 paper for additional embellishing.

Have a wonderful day!
