GB May Sneaks

Gossamer Blue has some fabulous kits on deck for May.  I mean fabulous.  Check out the Lookbook HERE.

Here's a preview of the project I made for the GB blog...it's a twist on an old-school technique I think you'll really like:

The Pocket Letter Craze

|
My friend Sasha showed me some pocket letters a while back and I was super skeptical.  I thought it was just another fad-trend-craze that would fizzle out sooner rather than later.  But oh my goodness, how wrong am I?  Pocket letters are blowing up Instagram and Facebook!  One of my favorite Internet friends, Heather at Goldiecar Designs, sent me my very first PL and it was love at first sight.

HOW FUN IS THIS?  You get a fun note and all sorts of goodies to share in your own pocket letters, or just keep in the pockets to enjoy.  I LOVE THIS IDEA.

This concept was dreamed up by Janette Lane (read her idea HERE) and has blown up all over the world.  You can find Pocket Letter Pal's from just about anyplace.

I've since received two more PL's and know I've got another coming from a friend I met on Facebook (link to the FB group I'm in HERE).  The first is from my friend Sasha and the next is from a FB swap I agreed to:

Last I have a few PL's I've made and sent out.  I prefer working with a color story instead of a theme. I like to ask my PL pal their favorite color and other things they like/enjoy so I can personalize their PL as best I can.  Some people like to make the PL's and then find a swap partner, but for me I like to create with that person in mind.

Have you made a pocket letter yet?  Would you like to swap with me?  I would be more than happy to make a special PL just for you!  Leave a comment on this post and I will reach out to you so we can exchange info.  Happy Crafting!

AWDML: Gather With Family

|
Tuesday means it's time for a blog post on A Walk Down Memory Lane!  Please read the how-to for creating this layout HERE!

I'm ready for summer!  The girly and I really enjoy our time in the backyard, I'm so looking forward to that.

Project 12: 3

|
I'm a bit late with the Project 12 post this month and I apologize!  My goal was to have the layout completed and ready for blogging in the first week of the following month.  This time around that didn't happen.  Oops.

I used the March Life Pages kits from Gossamer Blue to complete this spread.  Tons of goodies in those kits and if you aren't a subscriber to the Gossamer Blue kits you really are missing out.  They are filled with exclusives you absolutely cannot buy anywhere except in those kits.

I started by making the two full-size pages and then realized I was going to need an insert.  Even without including the girly's birthday party in the Project 12 I still needed an insert!  Life just gets busier and busier it seems.  I used rub-ons and stickers from My Mind's Eye to embellish the title card.  I still love the Shimelle date stamp from an older Gossamer Blue kit and continued stamping directly on the photos and then on the journaling card using Staz On ink.

Close-ups of each page to show a bit more detail and journaling.  I'm continuing with a more simple approach to this album in order to just get it done!  If I do too much I get caught up in the details and then burn out.  Because I still scrapbook 12x12 pages I don't feel this album needs as much embellishing.  This is just a snapshot of our lives.

The insert page, front and back.  Just a few more details from March I didn't want to leave out.

How's your monthly memory keeping going?

Gossamer Blue Inspiration Blog Hop

|
Hello!  It's the 15th of the month which means we are doing a fabulous Blog Hop by the Gossamer Blue Design Team!  Hooray!

I am sharing a layout created with the Bits & Pieces kit and Add-on Kit #2.  I took advantage of all the great squares and rectangles on the Simple Stories paper (intended to be cut apart, I'm sure) and added embellishments to the various boxes.  My photo is layered on a paper from the 6x6 paper pad and a piece of Elle's Studio paper.  Letter stickers, embellishments and exclusive wood veneer by Gossamer Blue completed this page.

Please visit the amazing Kasia next by clicking HERE!
Here's a list of all the participants on the Hop.  Happy Hopping!

Gossamer Blue: When You're Feeling a Creative Block

|
Hello and HAPPY FRIDAY!  Who's ready for the weekend?  This girl!

I have a blog post on Gossamer Blue with some tips for getting a creative block.  I was in a bit of a rut and just couldn't get anything made.  It wasn't for lack of inspiration or beautiful products, I was just feeling....blah.  Click HERE to read more.

I made this layout using the tips in the blog post.  I was finally able to shake off the blahs and get crafty!
Do you have tips and tricks to get you past the (awful-horrible-no-good-very-bad) creative block?  Please share!
