Gossamer Blue | Happy Day

|
Gossamer Blue reveal is July 1 and I was so excited to share one of my layouts I'm giving a full share today :)

GB has some fabulous kits for summer this month!  BUT, I guarantee you will be able to use the gorgeous papers and die cuts on pages that aren't just for summer.  My first layout features Fancy Pants and I was completely inspired by this layout by Claudia van Rooijen I found on Pinterest.

I LOVE the use of alphas as embellishments.  So fitting for a layout about the last day of preschool.

My girly adores her preschool teacher, she's already talking about going back to school.

Some Shimmerz behind the letters to make them stand out, plus some flicks of black to tie in the black on the letters.

I'm not creative with titles so when the die cut packs include title-ready words I tend to use them instead of trying to come up with something; I'm lazy ;)

Get your July kits on the 1st at noon central!

P.S. HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT COMING TOMORROW!

Just Plain Happy

Hey friends, I fell in love with the Fancy Pants Millie and June line, so of course it landed in my hot little hands ;)

I used a cut file from my stash for the title and did some mixed media on it and the background using Shimmerz.

Is ombre still cool?  Who cares, I like how it looks on my page :)  I like the mix of colors in this collection, something different for summer.

Love the gold foil accents and the ballet slipper pink...such a pretty color story.  You'll be seeing more from me using Millie and June!

Gossamer Blue July Kits Unboxing

I've got a VIDEO to share!

July kits from Gossamer Blue are perfect for summery layouts.

Kits will be LIVE on July 1 at noon Central Time.

HKC Shine

|
Doing a quick layout share today, featuring June kits from Hip Kit Club and a cut file from The Cut Shoppe.

Of course there's Shimmerz on the background ;)

Sometimes I just want to keep it simple, use a tried and true layout style that always works for me. It's not always about being brand new and different, but about getting the layout scrapped and the memory recorded.

Get a layout or two in your album today.

Mixed Media Monday

|
Hi friends :)

This page shows my love for using cut files as stencils!  I've done it before but used embossing paste or Dazzlerz through the cut file.  This time it's spray inks from Shimmerz.

I used items from Hip Kit Club May kits to create the page; I love that Illustrated Faith paper so much that I ordered several more sheets after using it up from my kits.  Yes.  It is THAT good.  I was attempting to kill the May kit but there's so much goodness I had leftovers to use with the June kits. No complaints from this girl, haha :)

Love the effect I got on the background, smooshing some inks on top of the stenciled flowers.

The "today" is secondary to the circle punched "she blooms;" the photo shows my girly doing some crafts at a MOMS Club event, and she worked so hard on her paper towel tube rain stick.  Yep, proud mama moment for sure.

Have a happy week!
xoxo

Pretty Little Studio Love This

|
I discovered a new (to me) company and it's fair to say I'm digging Pretty Little Studio like potatoes.

I used some lovely vellum from the Woodland collection to mat my photo, adding in some sweet little die cuts to fancy it up.

Flair badges.  The perfect little accent.

I used Shimmerz paints on the background, keeping the page soft, bright and girly.

Have a lovely little weekend :)

HKC Doesn't Get Any Better

|
A first for my sweet girl.

I still love the hand-drawn cut file look, and this cut file from Kerri Bradford Studio was perfect for my layout about Miss Q's first pedi.

I started by smooshing pink sprays from Shimmerz, then added in some Heidi Swapp gold for a bit of bling.  I cut the title twice and glued it off-set to really make it stand out on the page.

Those gorgeous florals were fussy cut from a Hip Kit Club exclusive paper for June.  Adore Kim Watson's design style!

My girl was just fascinated by the pedi.  Yes, we will definitely go again!  Love that we can have this girly time together.

Paint your toes and show'em off ;)

HKC Quinner's Playhouse

|
Come on in, and pull up a chair....

Ok, if you never watched PeeWee's playhouse you won't get the song reference, but since making this page I cannot get the theme song out of my head!

I used June kits from Hip Kit Club plus several cut files from The Cut Shoppe to put this page together.  Take a look :)

I started with gesso and Shimmerz on the backgound paper, then it kind of grew and grew and grew from there ;)  I fussy cut several flowers from the Simple Stories paper to frame my photos.

I used the Open Letter Alpha and Kitschy Kursive fonts to create the title, along with some Thickers from my stash.

Have some fun today!
xoxo

HKC Happiness

|
I made this page on Father's Day.  The photo is dear to me for so many reasons.

I used June kits from Hip Kit Club, along with Shimmerz, Colorshine and gesso on the background.

These are older cut files, mixed with some Maggie Holmes and HKC exclusives.

Love how the yellow/citron just pops in the sea of blues and greens.

Hope your day is sunshiney yellow ;)

Mixed Media Monday

|
This layout is quite the mix, I've got cut files, spray inks, stencils, life pages cards.....

I started with the 3x4 photo of my girly then cut out a 3x4 card from Jillibean Soup paper included in the May Hip Kits.  I smooshed Shimmerz on the white background paper then used an older stencil from HKC to spray navy Colorshine butterflies on the background.

I used a mix of chipboard and alpha stickers along with the Open Letter Alpha cut file from The Cut Shoppe for the title.

Have a beautiful week my friends!

Little You Hello Baby

|
I have a confession:  I totally love baby lines.  My excuse for buying them is it's a challenge to use a baby line in a non-baby way ;)  Good thing I have a bestie who just had a baby and a few more with babies on the way!

I started the page with this darling cut file from The Cut Shoppe, backing a few of the speech bubbles with different papers from the Little You collection.  I added a bit of pale yellow Shimmerz ink for a bit of mixed media.

I fussy cut a few papers for embellishments, I adore those baby animals.

I'll definitely use more from this line, next time on a non-baby page!  Maybe :)

Hip Kit Club Hello Cuteness

|
I'm sharing a cutie pie on my blog, a little dolly girl that my girly adores.

The Hello paper from Jillibean Soup made for an adorable background, and I had to use lots of yellow because Miss C says yellow is her fave ;)

I used Dazzlerz colored with Shimmerz sprays to make the clouds, using a stencil from the May Hip Kit Club color kit to get the shapes.  I fussy cut the clouds and used foam adhesive on some for dimension.  I also used foam adhesive behind the title; I used the fun Open Letter Alpha cut file from The Cut Shoppe plus some Pinkfresh Studios alpha stickers.

Go on with your cute self ;)

Gossamer Blue Simple Moments

|
Hey Guys!

Popping in to share this colorful page made using June kits from Gossamer Blue :)

I started with some beautiful Shimmerz inks then fussy cut the florals from some Simple Stories paper; I added Pinkfresh die cuts and word strips.

I love the rubber charms from Pinkfresh, something different for my pages ;)

I hope you're having a lovely June day!

Count Your Blessings

|
Hello!  Paper Issues was giving away an awesome cut file on Saturday, and who am I to say no to a free cut file?  Here's how I used it:

I used items from Hip Kit Club June kits, along with the lovely "Blessings" cut file from Kerri Bradford Studio.

I'm really getting in to mixing fonts/alpha stickers/cut files for my titles lately.

I'm not typically a buttons girl, but the Pink Paislee buttons are so pretty and just mixed right in on my page; I felt that the cut file provided so much that I could be a bit more minimal with the embellishments on this page.

I had no idea that Project Life had die cuts!  So happy we received a cute pack of them in the kits for June.

Stay cool :)

Mixed Media Monday

|
 SWING ME, MAMA!

How many times have I heard that phrase?  And how many times will I hear it before she learns to really swing herself?  The girly is growing up >sigh<

I used and older HKC cut file and backed it with several papers from the May Hip Kit Club kit, adding lots of Shimmerz on the white card stock for pops of color.  I did the majority of the my mixed media ink smooshing in the center of the layout, then added my photo trio to the top middle of the page.  Using small cut files and backing them with patterned papers sure does stretch your kits!

Have a happy and colorful week ;)

Hip Kit Club Smile

|
Hey, it's Sunday evening and I'm blogging?  Who am I?  haha!  When you've knocked out some layouts in the past week like I have, you want to share'em!  This one was made for the Weekly Challenge on the Hip Kit Club Facebook page.

The sketch challenge included shapes going across the page from the bottom left to top right, with the title and a banner below the photo.  It's such a great sketch, why change it too much?

Lots of beautiful Shimmerz sprays for my background, and I incorporated items from the May and June scrapbook kits.  I love how Hip Kit Club does smooth transitions from month to month so your leftovers are still relevant the next month.

I used two different HKC cut files from months past.  I put foam adhesive behind the title so it would really pop off the page.

Still loving those navy sequins from Jillibean Soup!

Special thanks to my fellow MOMS Club members for such a fab playdate to celebrate Mother's Day, and my sweet friend Rebekah set up the cutest little scene and took our pix!

Sending loving thoughts and healing vibes to those affected by the tragedy in Orlando; I lived in Orlando for three years and truly love that city.  More love my friends, more love.  xoxo

Hip Kit Club Bloom

|
I've recently started playing along with some fun challenges on the Hip Kit Club Facebook page; I've been scrapping for several years and never did challenges until now.  And I kinda like it!

I used a floral cut file and an alpha cut file for the main embellishments, then added in some exclusive HKC die cuts and Simple Stories frames.

This is a bit different for me in that it's a white on white layout and (gasp!) no mixed media.  But I love the effect and I think I'll do some more monochromatic stuff again.

Happy Saturday!
