Gossamer Blue Inspiration Blog Hop

|

Hello and thanks for following along on the Gossamer Blue Blog Hop!  We are celebrating February's lovely kits and I have a layout made with all Basic Grey items from the Bits & Pieces kit, Main Add-on Kit and Add-on Kit #2.

I printed my photos about 2x2 inches and matted them with papers from the 6x6 pad in the Bits & Pieces kit.  After figuring out the photo arrangement I added in chipboard and wood veneer pieces from Add-on Kit #2.  I heat embossed the wood veneer to kick them up a notch :)

I used some black and gold spray inks from my stash on the background paper to tie in the gold on the veneer pieces and the black alphas in the title.  I wanted to use the Basic Grey alphas in the kits but I had used up too many of them already!  Dang it!  They would have been a perfect fit.

I added a few pieces of the Dear Lizzy gold washi here and there for some additional gold details.

Keep on hopping to  the ever-fabulous Kellie Winnell!

Gossamer Blue January Blog Hop

|

Hello and thanks for clickin' along to my blog on the Gossamer Blue Inspiration Blog Hop!  I have a mixed media layout created with the January Life Pages and Main Kits.  I found my inspiration from the Fancy Pants brag cards in the LP Main Add-on kit, took a circle punch to them and my layout just grew from there.

This page is all about what I'm dreaming for in 2016, a motivational page to keep me on track.  What are your goals and plans?

Head on over to Joy Taylor's blog to see what she has in store for you!

Here's a complete list of links for the hop!  Thanks for stopping by and please check out all the work from my amazing design teammates.

Gossamer Blue December Blog Hop

|

Hello!  Thanks for joining the Gossamer Blue Design Team on this December Blog Hop!

I am sharing a page made with several kits:  Main Add-on, Main Add-on #2, Life Pages Themed Add-on and Bits & Pieces.  After I make a few layouts featuring only 1-2 kits, I kind of go bananas and throw several kits together on a page.

I added some splashes of color using THIS watercolor palette, then built my layout based on the giant vellum numbers from 7 Paper in the Life Pages Themed add-on.  My friend Rebekah took this photo of a few kiddos during a MOMS Club playdate, and it was just so perfect I had to scrap it.

I trimmed out the clipboard icons from the 6x6 pad in the Bits & Pieces kit, then did some repeat stamping using the Maggie Holmes roller stamp.  A few other tags and the page was complete.

Stay on the hop by visiting the ultra-talented Kathleen next!

Gossamer Blue November Blog Hop

|
Hello Everyone!  Thanks for participating in the Gossamer Blue Blog Hop today, I've got a fun layout using the Amy Tangerine and Jen Hadfield products included in the November scrapbook kits.

I like the mix of the graphic icons from Amy Tangerine, but wanted to add the feminine gold glitter word and Hello badge from Jen Hadfield.  I think my favorite pages are the ones where it's a mix up of products and companies, and Lori has definitely got an eye for putting it all together in our Gossamer Blue kits.  This layout is made up of the Main Kit, Add-on #2 and Main Kit Add-on.

Your next stop is the amazing Kasia!

*This is one of two posts for today; you can find my AWDML post below

It's the 15th and that means it's blog hop time for Gossamer Blue!  Yaaaa-hoooooo!  This month I am sharing my Project 12 spread for the month of August.  For the majority of 2015 I have used the corresponding month kit for my Project 12 layouts, but September kits were just too good to put on the shelf!  I've mentioned before in my Project 12 posts that I am contemplating going to the weekly approach for 2016 and I'm pretty sure that's a done deal.  The Gossamer Blue life pages kits have a ton of cards that I want to use but never have enough room!  Here's a look at what I created for Project 12 August.

I used several kits from GB including the Life Pages Kit, LP Main Add-on and LP Add-on #3, plus the alpha's from the scrapbook Main Add-on.  Take a closer look at each page below.

We took a weekend trip to Denver so the insert for this month is only photos from that trip.
The front is on the left and the back of the insert on the right.  I just realized my alpha stickers got a bit messed up when I photographed them--I promise it says "aquarium" below Denver :)

The page protectors are from We R Memory Keepers (layout left side and insert) and Becky Higgins (layout right side).  I typed up my journaling for the insert using my vintage Hermes 3000.  It's been a while since the Hermes and I had a date, I think it's time she finds a home in my craft room instead of in the basement. (Yes, it is completely necessary to italicize Hermes when I type it, she's that special. Ha!)  Additional stamping was done using the Alphalicious stamp set from Paper Smooches and Sunflower Ink from Lawn Fawn.  As per my Project 12 so far this year, photo stamping done using the Shimelle date stamp and StazOn ink.

Please head on to the adorable and talented Joy Taylor's blog!  A full list of blog hop participants is below, but if you encounter a broken link or any other issues along the hop, please feel free to start back at the Gossamer Blue blog HERE.

Gossamer Blue Inspiration Blog Hop

|

Happy Blog Hop Day!  There are tons of beautiful projects on the Hop this month, created to inspire you to use up those amazing August kits from Gossamer Blue.

I used the Life Pages kits for my June Project 12 spread.  I let the exclusive cards be the focal point this month, limiting the embellishing compared to other months.  Here's the left side:
Funny story:  I was in my hometown for my birthday this year, and my mom ordered me a cake from the local grocery store.  Well, let's just say cake decorating isn't their strong point.  I found it hilarious!

The right side includes the GB DT announcement from June 15.  To say I'm excited to be on this DT for another term is a complete understatement.  Also included is my girly's first dance class and some outside play.

Next is the first insert for June, all about my sweet nephew Super Jase.  It isn't a great photo but it's a memory I want to keep forever.  I printed the journaling on the background paper, just to change it up.

These photos show the front and back of the second June insert.  Yes, that's me riding the squirrel cages at the carnival.  FYI:  I'm officially too old for carnival rides.  It took about an hour for my stomach to settle after it was over.

I have a few photos with the main pages + inserts:

Gossamer Blue July Blog Hop

|

Hello!  You should have arrived here from the dazzling Heather Leopard's blog, and I just want to say thanks for hopping along with the Gossamer Blue Design Team today!

I'm sharing a Pocket Letter I created using the July Bits & Pieces kit, Life Pages and Life Pages Main Add-on Kits.  I cut the pocket cards from the Pink Paislee 6x6 paper pad, saving the scraps to stamp phrases and icons from the exclusive stamp set in the LP Main Kit.  The photo below shows the front of the PL with some close-ups of the stamping.  The LP stamp set is probably the most used stamp set I have right now!

The hello stamp is from my stash, along with the sequins and ribbon scraps.  When I do a lot of stamping on a PL I like to include extra stamped images for the receiver so they can use them in a future pocket letter.

This photo shows the back of the PL with goodies in the pockets. There are a few more close-ups of the stamping plus the final product, all folded up and ready for mailing.  I like to include a stitched tag with the recipient's name and this time I used a tag from my stash plus a Pink Paislee tag to dress up the outside of the pocket letter.

Keep hopping along to Joy's blog HERE!

Gossamer Blue June Blog Hop

|

It's the 15th of the month and that means the lovely ladies from the GB DT are hosting an amazing inspiration blog hop!  You should have landed here from my favorite Jill--Jill Cornell!

My layout shows a few of my absolute favorites from the June kits:  Seven Paper gold embossed vellum, Dear Lizzy cupcake toppers and the lovely Gossamer Blue exclusive papers.  There's no getting the GB exclusives unless you sub!

This photo was taken at Miss Q's 3rd Birthday Party:  poor Daddy couldn't get that doll out of the package fast enough!  The three candles are another Dear Lizzy product from the June Bits and Pieces kit.

Next on the hop is the cute-cute Katie Ehmann!  I'm sure she has a bunch of pretty cooked up for you :)

If you encounter a broken link along the way head back to the Gossamer Blue Blog HERE, or feel free to click on any of the Design Team members names below.

Gossamer Blue May Blog Hop

|

Thanks for hopping along to my blog with the Gossamer Blue blog hop!  I am sharing one of my favorite layouts from the May kits, plus a little extra project I completed.

The Maggie Holmes die cuts in the Main Add-on #2 just spoke to me... I remembered this photo from a zoo trip last year and had to use the giraffe die cut!  I also used the Bits and Pieces kit on this page.

The Maggie Holmes ephemera pack has some amazing die cut words.

And there were tons of bits in the Fancy Pants Designs ephemera as well.  I think the "splendiferous" definition worked perfect next to the giraffe.

I really liked the wood heart frame from the Main Add-on #2 and thought it would be cute as part of Miss Q's room decor.

I rarely make room decor and thought this would be a simple project--and it was easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy!  I'm totally going to attempt another project like this in the near future.

In case you encounter a broken link during the hop, head back to Gossamer Blue or refer to the list below.  Thanks for stopping by and head on to my favorite Aussie, Joy Taylor, by clicking HERE.

Gossamer Blue Inspiration Blog Hop

|
Hello!  It's the 15th of the month which means we are doing a fabulous Blog Hop by the Gossamer Blue Design Team!  Hooray!

I am sharing a layout created with the Bits & Pieces kit and Add-on Kit #2.  I took advantage of all the great squares and rectangles on the Simple Stories paper (intended to be cut apart, I'm sure) and added embellishments to the various boxes.  My photo is layered on a paper from the 6x6 paper pad and a piece of Elle's Studio paper.  Letter stickers, embellishments and exclusive wood veneer by Gossamer Blue completed this page.

Please visit the amazing Kasia next by clicking HERE!
Here's a list of all the participants on the Hop.  Happy Hopping!

Gossamer Blue March Blog Hop

|
Welcome to the Gossamer Blue Blog Hop!

My SIL, Aunt Lee-Lee, sent Miss Q some happy mail for Valentine's Day.  The layout called for some hearts and pops of color, so I used the Pinkfresh Studio wood veneer hearts with a bit of glitter embossing powder to mat my smaller photos.  The sticker hearts are from the same package as the wood veneer.

I used a circle punch to create circles the stickers are layered on.  A few puffy stickers from Pinkfresh Studio and a Gossamer Blue exclusive printable rounded out the embellishments.  Given the graphic nature and colors of the layout, I felt that using the printable as my title would draw the eye into the photo cluster.  A couple lines of journaling was all I needed for this layout!

I love how the paper had the ink splats as part of the design!

Keep hopping to my FAVORITE Aussie, Joy Taylor!

Hello Everyone!  Thanks for hopping along to my blog today, I have a couple Valentine Cards made with items from the January Add-on Kit #2.

My inspiration was the American Crafts DIY Shop Chalkboards.  I gold heat embossed the colored ones using Zing Gold Glitter, and for the one that was already gold I used Judikens Iridescent embossing powder.  Using Simon Says Stamp White Pigment ink and Simon Says Stamp Valentine Spoons stamp set + the Large Hearts stamp set, I stamped the sentiment and hearts on each board.  The embellishing on the boards was done with Crate Paper's Kiss Kiss sticker sheet and Pebbles confetti hearts.

I knotted some red twine thru a small hole punched in the top edge of a standard A2 card base so the recipient can hang as a decoration if they would like.  Using some very strong tape runner adhesive, I glued the chalkboards to the card base and then trimmed off the extra to make the card base a bit shorter and not as noticeable.

Thanks for reading, please keep hopping along!  If you encounter any broken links along the way, please refer to the master list on the Gossamer Blue Blog HERE.

Gossamer Blue November Blog Hop: Instant

|

Hello!  Thanks for hopping along from the crazy-talented Heather Leopard's blog and landing here!

This is a November Main Kit only layout, with the addition of some Heidi Swapp Black Velvet Color Shine.  I loved the bright colors in the November kit so I took advantage of using a B&W photo by adding pops of color and gold on my layout.  The 3x4 card summed up just how I felt about the photo of my girly and hubs on a walk.

I used another 3x4 card trimmed out of the Basic Grey paper, layered it with a Maggie Holmes tag and bow and placed it along the bottom left side of the layout to create balance from the photo area.  The mist was flicked in the same direction of top right photo area to bottom left embellishment.

Next on the hop is the brilliant Kasia, click here to head over to her blog!  If you get lost or stumble upon a bad link please head back to the Gossamer Blue blog.
