Hey!  I made a new video using some Bella Blvd Illustrated Faith + Clique Kits items, watch below.

This is 100% a Missy Whidden style layout, I adore Missy's work and credit her with my use of mixed media products on my pages.

Some papers and embellishments came from the December Clique Kits, other products were items in my stash.

The white gesso helps draw the eye in to the center of the page where the photo rests, and the splatters just add some fun to this page.  The Illustrated Faith products are so colorful and whimsical!

Be happy!

Another Clique Kits layout featuring Maggie Holmes Gather collection.

Some days I just want to machine-stitch.  So I do ;)

This isn't a page with techniques or any kind of fancy stuff.  It's just a layout that captures a moment that means something to me.

Of course there's a bit of splatter and random threads.... the pretty/messy aspect that I love so much. And this gold glitter heart washi from my stash that I've been using like crazy lately.

A few tiny details, and more of those tiny tassels that are exclusives from Clique Kits.

Randomly yours,
xoxo

Clique Kits | Q & Papa

I seem to be a few months behind when it comes to using my kits from Clique Kits.  And that's ok.  I like using these as my "for fun" pages, the things I make when I don't have design team commitments.

I debated adding a title to this page, and now that I'm blogging the layout I kind of wish I hadn't used one.  Hindsight, and all that.

I won't change it.  Now I know for next time.

I've used this ephemera pack from Maggie Holmes before, and having done that I felt like I could be totally decadent and use up a ton of items on this page.

Those mini tassels are exclusives from Clique Kits.  And I love them.

I used to print my photos from an on-line company and these are extras from those days.  I'm sure this photo has been scrapped before but I don't mind.  It's been 4 years ;)

Florals and plaids and mini tassels, oh my!

I am guesting at Clique Kits this month and would love it if you would check out all the fabulous work created using the December Clique Kits.  Head on over to Instagram and search the following hashtags:

  • #Cliquekits
  • #Clique_Connect_Create
  • #CKDecemberkit
  • #CKWONDERLAND
  • #CKPepRally

I used an older cut file frame and a December cut file from Clique Kits for the title, drawing the word "fascination" with my Silhouette, hand-stitching and using water colors to make that pink stand out from the black and white.

For a bit of fun I used several Shimmerz sprays and some Heidi Swapp gold, splattering on the top left and bottom right corners.

The butterflies are also from Clique Kits, love them cut out of vellum with gold.  I adhered the butterfly bodies and then stitched through them with gold thread.

The photo is backed with tissue paper from my stash; I added the frame with my tiny attacher, also tucking in a few exclusive paper tabs and die cuts.  To finish I added some Jillibean Soup wood veneer shapes.

You fascinate me ;)

Clique Kits | Sketch Challenge

|
Hey friends!  I'm guesting for Clique Kits this month, and I would love it if you would play along with their sketch challenge!

Here's the sketch for December:

And my take on the sketch:

I used the adorable heart paper from Bella Blvd as my background, then trimmed down a CK exclusive card from 4x6 to 4x4, added another 4x4 card and then trimmed out a 4x4 piece of the Illustrated Faith acetate.  I stitched down the middle and across the middle with silver thread, similar to the main diamond shape in the sketch.

I used circle punches on the Pink Paislee Moonstruck paper in the kit, and added a Jillibean Soup veneer.

I layered the photo over folded up tissue paper then added exclusive die cuts to embellish.  The title is also machine-stitched to the layout.

Head over to the Clique Kits Blog to see how the creative team used the sketch!  And watch for more projects from me this month using this gorgeous December kit!

Live colorfully,
xoxo

12x12 | Nothing Can Dim the Light

This quote from Maya Angelou resonates with me in so many ways.

In another life I served the homeless in Florida.  This quote made me think of my kids from the shelter, it made me think of my girly, it made me think of my friends who have true concerns regarding our recent election.

Clique Kits knocked it out of the park with that quote.

It is one I'll always carry with me.

Shine bright.

Another page using Clique Kits featuring Pinkfresh Studios Indigo Hills.  Oh how I love this color palette!

I started by drawing the title with my Silhouette using one of Clique Kits cut files, then hand-stitched with yellow floss.

After using a few patterned papers to mat the photo, I added in some random embellishments including some Clique Kits exclusives.

There wasn't a lot of thought on embellishing for this page, the focus was on the title and the secondary title using the Pinkfresh alphas.

The photo is of the girly after preschool one morning last year, she immediately ditched her pants when we got home.  Typical of this kid, still!

Chillin'

Clique Kits | You Shine

I'm still loving the 9x12 size.  It seems to fit my one-photo-per-layout style.

You know, there are no rules for scrapping.  Yes, you can follow basic design principles and rule of 3's, etc.  But if you want to put 5 photos on a page, or 1 photo or none, do it.  Do your thing.

This layout is my version of doing my thing.  I have a teeny tiny pic that I had printed for another project and didn't want to trash it.  So I made it work on this page.  Using a smaller format helps those little photos not get lost.

I used several exclusive cards from Clique Kits to mat the picture, then trimmed down a 4x4 card a bit smaller and used another card to mat that as my title.  No rules ;)

A few Pinkfresh Studios puffy stickers and a wood veneer as embellishments made my page feel more balanced, to my eye.

I fussy cut this Amy Tangerine die cut paper to create some texture and excitement at the bottom of the layout.  I added Pinkfresh washi along the top of the page and then machine stitched the perimeter.

I can't sew a straight line to save my life.  And I love the wonky look my pages have because of it.

Do you, you talented thing, you :)

Clique Kits | Happy Day

Sometimes you have an awesome photo but are clueless as to how you will scrap it.

I used Pinkfresh Indigo Hills line mixed with some Clique Kits exclusives to make this page.  My hubs had just received his Ghostbusters board game and he totally geeked out.

Editing the photo to black and white helped with this page.  Then I added in 3x4 Clique Kits cards and some cut aparts.  I stitched with white thread for texture.

I angle cut those little flags and put some Pinkfresh washi below the photo.

I really like those Pinkfresh alphas!

Who ya gonna call?
